„Awards for the last, before the end of the world” – this is the motto of this year’s ceremony Ikar. Because if the Earth disappears, Ikar will have no place to land and will keep flying. Together with everyone, who loves the theater.
The special committee sifted through 90 plays from the last theater season in Sofia to make the nominations. The most nominated is the “Return to Wittenberg” by Ivan Dobchev and Georgi Tanev.
The Union of Artists in Bulgaria will give Velko Kanev Ikar post-mortem for theater honor and dignity.

„The Spider” with Anastasya Liutova and Penko Gospodinov is a play, written by Dimitar Dimitrov and Jordan Slavjkov. Both of them as “B Plus” team create this text for theatre. „The Spider” is a protest against the imperfections of life; it is a clear signal that life, as it is, is not good enough for us.
And the story? A brother and a sister – Siamese twins celebrate their birthday right before the surgery for splitting. They dive into the deep labyrinths of unspoken words, of forgotten crimes, of unrealized loves and paradoxically different wishes for freedom.
