Credo Bonum Foundation, in a partnership with the U.S. Embassy to Bulgaria, presents “Revelations. Alvin Ailey: a revolution with dance”, an exhibition dedicated to one of the most respected and world famous modern dance companies and its founder.

The exhibition, which will continue until March 22, presents selected archive posters from the library of Alvin Ailey Dance Foundations and looks into Ailey’s life as one of the most respected modern dance choreographers of the 20th century. Apart from the posters the exhibition features photographs showcasing the work of some of the 70 choreographers who have staged dances for the company.

A centerpiece of the project is a short film about the life of the Texas-born Ailey and the history of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT). Alvin Ailey created AAADT with the vision of a dance company dedicated to enriching the modern American dance, as well as preserving the uniqueness of the African American cultural experience. After his death in 1989, Alvin Ailey leaves behind a multicultural dance company, which has reached through dance over 23 million people in 71 countries all over the world.
