European masters of the brush of XX century

An exhibition of the great masters of the brush - Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Juan Mirό, Fernand Leger, Chagall, Raoul Dyufi presents the newly opened space for art and culture VIVACOM Art Hall from 20 February to 15 March. The works are  rich collection of the Modern Art Gallery in Sofia. Some of them have been shown to the public as part of the iconic gallery exhibitions, others are less familiar.

Prague – New York – Sofia – Jan Kalab’s graffiti cities


The Czech street art and graffiti artist Jan Kalab will paint live on a wall in the Gallery of the Czech centre today at the inauguration of his exhibit “Successful Choice.” Known also as Splesh, Point, Cakes, Jan Kalab creates street art and graffiti all over Europe and USA. He is among the innovators on the Czech graffiti stage, and his works are in the tradition of the Czech geometrical abstraction.

"The dots" of Damien Hirst

On January 12 "the dots" of Damien Hirst were shown simultaneously in all 11 galleries " Gagosian" - New York, London, Paris, Los Angeles, Rome, Athens, Geneva and Hong Kong. For the first time " Gagosian " devotes all its locations worldwide to one artist.

25 new graphics of Juan Mirό


25 new graphics of Juan Mirό from the collection of French lithography "Studio Murlo"  in the Museum Gallery of Modern Art. 

The works were created by Juan Mirό in 1972. and in 1974. in small circulation of 150 lithographic prints. The Abstract compositions are characterized by bright, saturated colors and specific internal compositional rhythm. They can be found entertaining zoomorphic elements or geometrical shapes.

RASSIM Oil Paintings

Bulgaria

The exhibition presents RASSIM's latest works. The series comprises five engrams sized 113Х150 cm and two self-portraits, painted on paper using motor oil. RASSIM's first attempts with this material date back to 2010 when he used motor oil to paint a portrait of Formula One champion Ayrton Senna, Frank Williams and Eddie Jordan. Later, RASSIM develops the technique into a different concept, relating it to the theory of engrams and the topic of memory.

Sixth International Triennial of the Stage Poster


In 2010 in Sofia was held the Sixth International Triennial of the Stage Poster. Triennial projects that started in this edition are in the process of development in 2011. The emphasis of the triennial program in 2011 is a major Bulgarian-Japanese project for the promotion of culture - The Eternal LESSONS OF THE JAPANESE SCHOOL OF THE STAGE POSTER: KADZUMASA Nagai / IKKO TANAKA / Shigeo Fukuda (album & exhibition & lectures)
