The Seasons In Us – Two Boutique Concerts

Modo Bulgaria is pleased to invite you to “The Seasons In Us” – two boutique concerst featuring pianist Veneta Neynska and violinist Greta Mutlu on August 5, in the Balabanov House in Plovdiv and August 6, in music center “Boris Christoff” in Sofia. The duo will be joined by Atanas Krastev, violoncello. They will present an original program at the height of the summer season:

- Leonardo de Lorenzo – Autumn Waltz
- Eugène Ysaÿe – Chant d’Hiver
- Ludwig van Beethoven – Violin Sonata No. 5 in F major, op. 24 “Spring”
- Astor Piazzola – Verano Porteno

Veneta Neynska received her Bachelor’s degree in the class of world-renowned pianist John Perry at USC. Subsequently she studied with Joan Havill at the the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Veneta participated in master classes with Imogen Cooper, Alexei Nasedkin, Jerome Lowenthal, and Dominique Merlet. Veneta has partaken in a multitude of competitions and has won prizes including First Prize at the Seventh Piano Competition in Larnaca, Cyprus, second prize of the Christopher Duke Competition in Watford, UK First Prize in the Beethoven Hradec in the Czech Republic, third prize at the Alexander Tansman Competition in Lodz, Poland. She was awarded an honorary scholarship by “Gabriel Mekler” and City of London Trust. Currently Veneta Neynska is the Artistic director and inspirer to all projects of Modo Bulgaria.

Greta Mutlu graduated from the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music, USA, and obtained an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School in Toronto, Canada, as a student of Paul Kantor. She has won numerous awards from national and international competitions in Bulgaria and abroad. Her appearances as soloist include concerts at home and in France, Germany, Czech Republic, Canada and the USA. In 2005 Ms. Mutlu was awarded a Diploma for Distinguished Artistic Achievement by the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria. Greta has worked, in master class and privately, with Leonidas Kavakos, Leon Fleisher, James Boyd, Michael Gurevich, Kevork Mardirossian, Oleh Krysa, Scott Saint-John, Barry Shifman and Joel Smirnoff. Currently, Greta Mutlu is pursing her Master’s degree at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA, in the class of Andrés Cárdenes.
